We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Asset Engineer at Western Power’s Perth Office CBD, on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

 


About this role

 

As the Senior Asset Engineer, you will be accountable for developing and applying best practice operational asset management principles and long-term strategies to deliver optimal life cycle performance of transmission lines and cables.

 

This includes application of life cycle assessments, maintenance standards, operation and maintenance optimisation, and application of innovative digital asset management best practices.

 

You will also be required to:
 

  • Ensure that all significant variations, outside tolerances agreed within the Serviceability Assessments Model (SAM),  are rigorously assessed from a thorough value-for-money business perspective before agreeing to revised work program targets and performance outcomes.
  • Monitor asset performance against planned work priorities in terms of expenditure, scope and volume achievement to ensure the target outcomes in network performance are achieved within cost and time constraints.

 

 

About you

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Civil Structural engineering essential
  • Eligible for Professional Engineer membership (MIEAust) with Engineers Australia
  • Significant engineering industry experience (at least 10 years) in preferably operation and maintenance areas
  • Demonstrated track-record of combining comprehensive technical skills with exposure to risk management and governance processes.
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in maintenance and asset management related functions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Ability to relate tasks to the "big picture" and communicate accordingly.
