Stakeholder & Landowner Relationships Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for a Stakeholder & Landowner Relationships Team leader on a permanent full-time basis to develop and oversee strategies and engagement plans that align with our business objectives with a focus on minimizing risks and ensuring positive relationships with all stakeholders.

 

This role leads a team of stakeholder and landowner engagement professionals that are responsible for Western Power’s stakeholder engagement framework and implementation of stakeholder relationship plans, landowner services and providing strategic advice.

 

Your Role in Action 

 

  • Lead and manage the implementation of Western Power’s stakeholder framework and stakeholder relationships strategy through providing specialist services including advice on:

              -  Engagement methodology

              -  How engagement can be used to minimise business risk and impacts on stakeholder groups

              -  Estimates and resourcing for stakeholder related project work

  • Accountable for the Local Government relationship strategy, including understanding and managing the unique needs of regional and metro Local Governments.
  • Provide advice on complex and contentious stakeholder and landowner issues, reactive engagement, and issues management.
  • Develop and deliver stakeholder and landowner communications materials and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Implement and update online engagement tools, develop and implement standards, processes, and work instructions.
  • Team leadership including technical review, performance management and peer support.
  • Manage consultants and suppliers to deliver engagement and research on behalf of Western Power and support procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder and landowner engagement plans for infrastructure projects.
  • Understand Western Power’s legal and regulatory obligations related to land access and technical standards regarding substation, tower, and transmission line designs to ensure advice to internal and external stakeholders is consistent with Western Power’s legal obligations and technical capabilities.
  • Attend events and present on behalf of Western Power.
  • Management and delivery of engagement during crisis and emergency events including regional travel.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Social Sciences, urban and regional planning, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Completed IAP2 Essentials
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise, with extensive and demonstrated years’ experience in stakeholder relationships and / or landowner engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience in incorporating best practice stakeholder and landowner engagement in the context of large infrastructure.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability building collaborative and consultative working partnerships and a proven conflict resolution experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a professional team to achieve business goals and an ability to motivate people.
  • Well-developed communication and listening skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and delivery.
